Georgia Bulldogs getting down and funky with ‘Gangnam Style’ video parody
ATHENS – Georgia’s basketball players are getting down, “Gangham Style.”
The Bulldogs’ men’s and women’s basketball players, along with mascots “Hairy Dawg,” “Spike” and some UGA students, recently shot a video on campus in which they parody the popular dance song by Korean pop star “PSY,” which is currently sweeping the nation. The video was first unveiled this past Friday night when the teams held their preseason “2012 Basketbash” event at Stegeman Coliseum and will likely be shown again on the video board at Sanford Stadium during a football game.
“[Associate promotions director] Emily Deitz and her staff wanted to do something with our teams to show them in a fun and entertaining light,” said Alan Thomas, Georgia’s associate athletic director for marketing and promotions. “So they got both our teams together with our Dance Dawgs to show them the steps and they had a lot of fun with it.
